Born on 11.03.1946 at Marthandanthurai, in the (Latin) diocese of Trivandrum, joined the diocesan Seminary, ordained a priest on 20.12.1969, appointed Vicar Co-operator and Parish Priest of different parishes, Prefect of the Seminary, sent for higher studies in Biblical Institute and Liturgical Institute, Rome (1972-77). Returned from Rome, was appointed diocesan Director of Bible Apostolate, Sacred Liturgy, Catechism and Communication Media, Professor of Bible, Liturgy and Spiritual Father in the Major Seminary, Alwaye (1979-86). Back in the diocese, appointed Rector of the diocesan Seminary, Archdiocesan Consultor and diocesan Director of Priestly Ministry. Elected and appointed Coadjutor Archbishop of Trivandrum on 02.12.1989 and Apostolic Administrator of the (Latin) diocese of Trivandrum on 13.01.1990, Ordained bishop on 02.02.1990, Appointed bishop of Trivandrum on 31.01.1991 with residence at
